CSR: THE ITALIAN GOVERNEMENT COMMITMENT
FOR THE FUTURE (D.VASSELLI)
The third National Conference on Corporate
Social Responsibility topics has been held in
Rome lately. Among the people attending the
meeting, there were many representatives of
political, social and business Italian world
and for the first time a new member of the European
Commission for Labour ands social Affairs, Vladimir
Spidla, who announced the next European Commission
'communication will be about CSR topics and
those concerning companies' transparency. In
his opening speech, Minister of employment and
social Affairs Maroni reminded and stressed
the subject for discussion's requirements, that
is CSR practices must be voluntary and they
should become corporate assets. Furthermore
it will be necessary defining an evaluation
and measurement tool of CSR topics' standard
of awareness by Italian entrepreneurs, in order
to make it suitable in particular to SME (by
now only a set of indicators has been settled
and tested within 25 companies).
