Strategic management (Alessandro Monti)

It can certainly be considered as a process, being composed of different phases, closely linked together, in order to improve decisions and actions' rationality within a systematic and integrated business management: beginning from decisions taken during the first phase, strategic management plans their operating development by specific action programmes, more and more updated for the decisions taken afterwards.

Strategic management provides for two basic planning means:

- strategic planning, directed to rationalize decision-making processes, in order to carry out business strategy's formulation;
- operating planning, that connect long-term strategic planning with annual budgeting
