ABSTRACT
What is the LAW Project?
The LAW project - Labour Market Changes and
Welfare Perspectives in Europe - aims at investigating
the connections between the recent structural
changes of the labour market in the 'Information
Society' and the welfare systems evolution.
In the first phase a comparative analysis in
several countries of the European Union (France,
Germany, Italy) and in a candidate (at that
time) country for EU membership (Poland) focused
on the new patterns of employment models, in
particular the new forms of atypical work, and
their impact on the welfare systems.
Based on this analysis, both the European and
the national public policies concerning employment
and social protection and cohesion, will be
supported by the project.
The second phase of the LAW project, currently
underway, is specifically oriented to the issues
related to the information society. It aims
to identify and analyse the impact on welfare
brought about by the ICT -based new forms of
work. The analysis is being performed in several
countries of the EU (France, Germany, Italy,
Poland, Sweden, UK).
